Welcome to the Emulation64 Network

    Zilmar - April 2004

Gent: Hi Zilmar, First of all thanks to agreeing to this Chilling With Gent Session i know you are extremely busy so many thanks. i want to ask you some questions on behalf of The Emulation64 Network Browsers/Users who are interested in you and what you are doing ok?

Zilmar: ok that is fine

Gent: cool What have you been up to since the release of Project64 1.4 and how is life treating you?

Zilmar: life has been good, it basically always is, I am mostly an optimist, I like to see the good in everything, .. tho some times if some one is to optimistic with out willing to do think otherwise I can get a bit more critical. ... since 1.4 lets see .. got engaged, changed job twice, chatted some what, worked a lot, had a 9 month break from work,
bought an investment property, read a lot, programmed a lot more .. gone out with friends, got a new niece and nephew, helped run a church youth group for a couple of years, did a church news letter for a couple of years to .. probably heaps more stuff I can not think of

Gent: wow so i guess life really cant be better for you great to hear, and congrats on the engagement and things going so well for you. Now i know you are pretty much out of emulation and are happy with work and other non Emulated Projects but I'm sure that every ones would like to know if have you tried Project64 1.5 and what did you think of it ? and did it give you a slight erg to want to start up again ?

Zilmar: I hope they like it and enjoy pj64, any version .. I am a little to biased to get in to peoples minds, I know lots of little
problems and things to make it nicer .. tho it is a nice product that I think many people can use, that is stable and compatible with most of the top games. Tho I am talking about project64 in general .. 1.5 does fix some of those bugs, so people who like to cheat, or want to play banjo tooie, thanks tooie. Then it is better for them, not to mention jabo did a great job with his plugin he always does.

Gent: yea that's pretty much the reaction all the users had as they even expect another release and great to see you have tried it and approved of the continued work

Zilmar: Did I ever have the erg to start up again .. hehe, start again, more then start up, I re-wrote most of pj64, fixing and cleaning up different bugs, had a lot done, but other projects have taken over since then. It did run a lot of games, tho it was extremely slow and no where stable so nothing that could ever be released in the form it is. The whole core was totally redesigned so it work differently, it has the potential to really speed it up, but does that really matter? since people have fast enough PC these days .. Now if I could make a living off emulation and work from home all day and get payed as much as my normal job .. then it would be real tempting to work on it full time .. emulation is not something you can make money from .. so that will never happen .. roll on to other projects

Gent: yea i understand that completely, financial security for not alone yourself but your future wife and family must come first and again congratulations on that and your endeavours. As for you dabbling with PJ you kept that close to your chest. so the possibility of another version from you hopefully down the line if you get time to pick back up and finish it looks promising. I'm sure users will be glad of that information and dare I even
say, give a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel for a future Project64 from you. Please keep us posted
now you mentioned roll on to other projects, can you elaborate on these ?

Zilmar: not at the moment .. when something gets done maybe, tho I will say it is not emulation related, it is more on the business side of things

Gent: ok fair enough sounds very promising though I'll guess you will keep us posted.
ok another thing most people don't know about you is that you have a great sense of humour
so i want to dig into that part of your Personality There is a urban terminology for a word Gented referring to me of course Here When was the last time you Gented and what was it?

Zilmar: hehe, funny word ... umm no idea .. those type of things I do not remember .. probably more of a problem of doing the opposite, to busy thinking ahead, that it takes me ages to do anything, tho once I have thing well planned out I can go
ahead decently

Gent: lol you are lucky i end up with a Word describing my mess-ups, i may have to get you to coach me sometime lol Now these next Questions i stole from the Actors Studio and love it, so i am going to ask you them too. When you get to the gates of heaven what would you like to hear Arc Angel Gabriel say to you?

Zilmar: umm.. not sure of an answer

Gent: yea i would be astounded too, just watch out he don't try to blag and private Build
What is your Favourite Word ?

Zilmar: Favourite Word ..... my Favourite Word word is ... ummm still no idea, never given enough thought to the words I just use them, favourite sayings .. now I can answer that.
time is the best teacher, unfortunately it kill all its students

Gent: So true and something i can see you live by with the dedication you put into ever Project you are involved What is your Least Favourite Word/Saying ?

Zilmar: have his cake and eat it to, .... what else do you do with cake .. why would you ever want cake and not eat it .. that one never makes sense to me

Gent: lol yea i think i know the you cant have your cake and Eat it, equally as puzzling lol
What is your Favourite Yahoo or any Smillie ?

Zilmar:hehe, no idea .. have not really used them enough to come to any conclusion

Gent: ok what question would you of wanted me to ask that i haven't ?

Zilmar: ummm .... no idea I already know most things about me .. not sure what you want to know

Gent: Great answer,Now i know you are busy with work, Love and other things but any chance of you making me a Binatone TV Master MK 6 simulator ? lol

Zilmar:what is binatone ?

Gent: this is going to be a no isn't it ?

Zilmar: I guess so

Gent: ok was worth a try what was your 1st Video Game Console

Zilmar: my first console .. atari 2600

Gent: wow the good old stuff, what was the 1st Video Game you played

Zilmar: not sure if I remember, I remember I had pitfall, California games, space invaders, on my atari .. I remember playing rampage world tour on my friends comdore64

Gent: cool yea I was the same and a Amstrad Joe Blade. If you could be anyone in the world past or present who would you be

Zilmar: I would have to say my self, .. everyone has good and bad traits, if there is something that is wrong in my life then it is my job to change it, if there is something that I would like then I can achieve it, God gave everyone huge amounts of
talent and potential, most people never make use of it. You only have to listen to stories where people are servery handicapped, and still make huge progress cause they have a desire to be normal or not the role people put on them. If as a normal person each of us had that desire, there is nearly nothing that you could not achieve

Gent: what a superb answer wow and i totally agree with you, what was the best prank you ever played on anyone

Zilmar: best prank .. ummm... nothing comes to mind

Gent: ok or willing to admit Do you believe in love at 1st sight and i mean with other people not yourself

Zilmar: nope, no way ..lust/desirer yes, love is not a feeling .. love is an action, you serve others out of love, and it takes work, for the rest of your life. If you believe it is a feeling then all it takes is a low point, instead of work at it and trying to improve it people just go I do not feel it any more, lets go looking for it someone else .. No wonder we do no have many relationships lasting for the rest of your life any more

Gent: ok so attraction, talking, growing closer then life companionship, that's the way i see that answer. If you went on a different path and never got the coding bug, what would you see yourself doing instead.

Zilmar: I picked up coding at a young age .. so much of my life would be different .. who knows, I would be a totally different person then who I am now

Gent: now that's a superb answer, and between you and me and everyone reading, I'm glad you got the Coding Bug What would you like to see yourself doing in ten years ?

Zilmar: ten years .. enjoying spending time with my future kids, enjoy talking and being with my wife, helping out the church, have my own business ..

Gent: i hope that happens you deserve it If you was a normal user and tried PJ64 for the 1st time what would strike you the most about it ?

Zilmar:that it reminds them of the good old times playing a n64 .. if I have done a good job .. then they will not really notice the emulator it self and just be able to play the game and let memories flow .. or at least play a new game they enjoy

Gent: yup that's for sure i still constantly play it and tv out trust me it brings back plenty of fond memories both as a N64 Console Fan and PJ64 Fan What Book has in grossed you from the start to finish and what was it ?

Zilmar: the first 3 harry potter books .. the last 2 are just as good .. tho a little to big for me to read extremely quickly since I have so many other distractions in life

Gent: ya mine was the LOTR collection Hardback, took a hell of a long time to finish too.
What was the 1st Feature film you saw as a kid and how did it effect you ?

Zilmar: I remember that I saw the last of the star wars trilogy .. and that I had to go to the toilet in the final scene, so my dad had to take me to the toilet .. oh the joys of parenthood .. that is nearly as much I can remember about the movie, since I was like 4 at the time .. so no idea how it effected me

Gent: Mine too was starwars and i told Jabo when i interviewed him how when i came out i was hitting everyone with a stick i was deeply effected Who is/was your Favourite Comedian and why?

Zilmar:do not have any .. I do not watch any comedians

Gent: ok, who is a person you most admire and why ?

Zilmar: Gandhi, a wise peaceful man, who still changed his world

Gent: nice answer and a great man, ok one last question then... If i gave you all the info on a Binatone TV Master MK 6 how would the chances look for that simulator ?

Zilmar: well info is one issue .. my time is the other major issue

Gent: ok two strikes and I'm out lol, Thank you for your time Zilmar and being a great sport, all the best in Life, Love and any project you are involved in.

Zilmar: thanks
