    schibo - May 2004

Gent: Hi Schibo, First of all thanks to agreeing to this Chilling With Gent Session i know you are extremely busy so many thanks I'm aware that it may seem a bit strange as we chat now and then so we may be going over old ground but i want to ask you some questions on behalf of The Emulation64 Network Browsers/Users who are interested in you and what you are doing ok?

schibo: ya

Gent: cool What have you been up to since the release of 1964 0.9.9 and Dolphin? and superb work on both btw, what is the status of both 1964 and Dolphin? and how is life treating you?

schibo: life is treating me well.. I have a new job lined up & in October I'll graduate college. Rice & I are still working on 1964, but I wouldn't want to get anyone's hopes up about what we're doing. As for Dolphin, I'm actually surprised I got a mention as a "co-author".. I worked on optimizing the core for about a month, and regrettably, I haven't had time to work on it with ector and F|RES. I suspect in a few months if the code is anything like I remember, I'll jump in again if the opportunity is there..

Gent: cool on all fronts, and all the best with collage and onwards

schibo: thanks a lot

Gent: Now another thing most people don't know is you have a great sense of humour so i want to dig into that part of your Personality soo.. There is a urban terminology for a word Gented referring to me of course Here When was the last time you Gented and what was it?

schibo: that's an easy one, i just clicked your link after telling you earlier that it freezes yahoo for me to do that ..

Gent:lol aww that's not you though that's yahoo genting at its best

schibo: sorry j/k, lemme try the link

Gent:lmao ok

schibo: ok well maybe we should leave it at that ..

Gent:roflmao 1st accepted Now these next Questions i stole from the Actors Studio and love it, so i am going to ask you them too. When you get to the gates of heaven what would you like to hear Arc Angel Gabriel say to you?

schibo: hey, you, are you lost ?

Gent: hahaha love it , what is your Favourite Word ?

schibo: deprecated, new power word i learned. it means an obsolete feature like using the < CENTER > or < BLINK > tags in HTML (with closed brackets)
, but it appropriately sounds like "defecated"

Gent: nice word and a new one on me, What is your Least Favourite Word ?

schibo: closure

Gent: used a lot on American Chat shows ya , what is your Favourite Yahoo or any Smillie ?

schibo:

Gent: , what question would you of wanted me to ask that i haven't ?

schibo: why'd you make me wait so long to do this interview

Gent: lmao ok why'd you make me wait so long to do this interview Now i know you are always busy and i have asked many Authors and its not looking good so I'll try my luck with you, any chance of you making me a Binatone TV Master MK 6 simulator ? lol

schibo: heh I'm looking online, i think i remember this thing but i've never used one. so i guess the answer is no

Gent: Yea now i know all you Authors are ganging up on me what was your 1st Video Game Console or Computer?

schibo: my first computer was a Commodore64 and first console was an Atari 2600

Gent: coolthat's the stuff i love! , what was the 1st game you played

schibo: I'm too old to remember but I think it was pong. the Atari 2600 games were definitely the first that I played regularly. Combat and Pac-Man were our first cartridges

Gent: pure class, i loved all those games my love was Amstrad Tape style talking old old school If you could be anyone in the world past or present who would you be

schibo: probably Neil Armstrong

Gent:great answer! you've done a few great Giant steps yourself for emulation Kind I can assure you What was the best prank you ever played on anyone?

schibo: well there's a few, but off the top of my head. I was on the phone with my brother and flipped through the phone book looking for some prank to pull. I came to "Air Conditioners", and got the number so i told my brother to call the number and ask if they have Hair Conditioners. when they say "yes", ask if they have Prell or Pert Plus my brother got angry with me after he made the call, because the man on the other line said "We sell Air Conditioners, not Hair Conditioners!!" well that's a lame one but there ya go

Gent: lol, i can see this is probley an everyday ritual for you then Do you believe in love at 1st sight and i mean with other people not yourself

schibo: i think it's possible to feel a strong attraction at first sight, whether that's love or not I don't really know. alright i'm dodging the question, let's say yes

Gent: ok, If you went on a different path and never got the coding bug, what would you see yourself doing instead for pleasure or a Occupation

schibo: definitely directing film and having an active hand in post-production, i enjoy mixing audio, and audio to video. b4 computers i was an audio guy.

Gent: well i can defiantly say with 1st hand experience your productions rock, keep them coming

schibo: heh, well thanks

Gent: What would you like to see yourself doing in ten years ?

schibo: hmm, maybe starting to think about a family, right now having too much fun working and being an overgrown kid

Gent: lol well believe it or not you can still be both just ask sarah

schibo: well, if it's ok with sarah

Gent: If you was a normal user and tried 1964 and Dolphin for the 1st time what would strike you the most about it ?I

schibo: I guess this assumes that they work the first time well i can be a little more objective about Dolphin since I have a small part in it. I'm impressed with what it's able to do and what I believe it will be able to do. With 1964, I'd probably prefer it for certain games, and use other emus for different games. not sure that answers the question

Gent: what a superb answer and lol @ assumes that they work the first time yea that's great! What Book has in grossed you from the start to finish and what was it ?

schibo: Well I'm a slow reader so I don't think I've ever read a lengthy novel from start to finish without switching to another book in the middle. But I have read Saved by the Light by Dannion Brinkley in one night. It's short, but a good quick read of nonfiction about a man who claims to have come back from the dead multiple times after having been struck by lightning while on the phone. He now uses his new psychic powers to help people. I prefer nonfiction to fantasy novels, or to be more clear "true stories". whether or not his story is real is debatable

Gent: but interesting is good enough agreed. What was the 1st Feature film you saw as a kid and how did it effect you ?

schibo: think it was the Jungle Book, not sure how it influenced me as I'm not running around topless with a loin cloth... well, not usually. the first movie that had an affect on me as a kid was E.T. in 1982

Gent: lmao , did you annoy people like me shoving your finger at them saying home ?

schibo: no, i annoyed people with my speak & spell making it tell them to "U B Quiet"

Gent: roflmao, i still play with them via the simulators on behalf of my niece you understand

schibo:

Gent: Who is/was your Favourite Comedian and why?

schibo: Gilbert Gottfried, that voice alone makes me laugh

Gent: never heard of him i must say, anything he has done i would know ?

schibo: well lately he's the voice of the Aflac duck, but maybe u don't have that there either

Gent: nah you know how it works here, probley get that in the UK in 2 - 3 years
Who is a person you most admire and why ?

schibo: well, it's going to be another "Armstrong", but for a different reason. He got cancer he had a 50/50 chance of survival, beat cancer, and went back to win the Tour de France 3 years later, and now has 5 straight championships

Gent:wow fantastic choice and a great show of courage and determination of the great man. ok one last question then If i gave you all the info on a Binatone TV Master MK 6 how would the chances look for that simulator ?

schibo: i'm pretty tied up with other things .. sorry

Gent:lol ok fair enough one day it shall be mine, Thank you for your time Schibo and being a great sport as always, all the best in Life, you fab Short Films (Keep em Coming!) and any project you are involved in.

schibo: u got it, thanks Gent
