PSXeven Tools

One of the aspects that sets PSXeven apart from other emulators is it's native tools support. Currently there are 2 tools available.

Memcard Manager

Highlight "Tools" and select "Memcard Manager" or click the big ole (you know whats next) Memcard button to be brought to the PSXeven Memory Manager Menu

The PSXeven "Memory Manager" gives you full memory card fuctions including formatting new cards, copying information between two memory cards, and even importing memory cards from other emulators. The simple to use interface shows each memory card file available, and makes it easy to swap data from one card to another.

Compress/Decompress ISO File

Highlight "Tools" and select "Compress/Decompress ISO File" to be brought to the PSXeven compression tool menu

This menu gives you the option of compressing or decompressing game image files (*ISO, *IMG, *BIN formats) to a larger or smaller file. PSX Game images can be relatively large, but this tool can shrink the size of each file to almost half. The usage is fairly simple. You can choose to either compress a file, or restore a compressed file to it's original state using decompress. Of course a browse window is available to locate the file you want compressed.

The tool normally compresses files to a *BZ format. This format will reduce the size, and will create an additional "track" file that contains instructions needed for decompression. However you also have the option of using Xeven's ISZ format by simply checking the box. This format is near identical to the BZ format, but decompresses into a single file. This is a user preference since the emulator natively supports both formats. Play these files as you would normally by using the "RUN ISO" button.

Save State Manager

Highlight "Tools" and select "Save State Manager" to be brought to the PSXeven Memory Manager Menu.

The PSXeven "Save State Manager" gives you quick viewing access to all your save states. From this menu you can easily view your states, delete the save states you no longer want, and even quick launch a game by clicking "Run State" or double clicking on the save state.
